Your OTAP license gives you permission to install OTAP on as many computers as is necessary for you to do your job and/or conduct your research.  If your computer or network administrator has installed OTAP in a shared or network location, then you can use OTAP on any computer on your network.  See your computer or network administrator for more information about how to access OTAP at your facility.

You also may install OTAP on two computers (e.g., at different clinics).  Please note, however, that data you enter into one installation of OTAP are not accessible from another installation of OTAP. If you need to access data on both OTAP installations, you must export your data from one computer and import your data into the other computer.

The choice to install OTAP in anonymous mode versus regular mode is made when OTAP is installed and cannot be changed. In order to change the mode, you will need to re-install OTAP. See the OTAP installation instructions. To move data from one computer to another, each user must export and import his/her backup data. See export and import backup data instructions in the OTAP tutorial.
Note. For those changing from Regular to Anonymous mode, OTAP will present after importing the data a one-time-only window with each client’s name and his or her new OTAP ID number. Copy and/or print the list of imported persons.

Staying current with your OTAP software

  1. Open OTAP
  2. Click Help > About to display the About OTAP window
  3. See the OT Assessment Package version number

Note. If you are using AMPS 9, School AMPS 2005, or ESI 2009, you need to purchase a license upgrade in order to use OTAP.  If you do not have a softwarwe license for AMPS 9, School AMPS 2005, or ESI 2009, then you need to recalibrate or take a course to get an OTAP license.
  1. Open OTAP
  2. Click Help > Check for Updates
  3. OTAP will compare your OTAP version with the most current version.  OTAP will then prompt you to download the current version if needed.
Note.  If OTAP’s Check for updates fails on your computer, then you may need administrator approval to download or install software.  You may need to update OTAP manually.  See OTAP updates for instructions.

We recommend that you keep your OTAP software up-to-date.  Ensures that you have access to the most current features (i.e., the latest reports and new tasks) and fixes to any known software problems. Your OTAP license gives you access to free, unlimited OTAP updates.

If you have a license for AMPS 9, School AMPS 2005, or ESI 2009 computer-scoring software, you qualify to purchase an upgrade license for OTAP.  Once you have an OTAP license, you merely need to renew your OTAP license (see How do I renew my OTAP license? above). If paying by credit card:
  1. You may Upgrade your license on our online store.
  2. Select one of the “Upgrade” options.
  3. It may take a few days to generate your license key. Your license key will be sent to you from data@innovots.com. Watch your Inbox, Junk E-mail, or SPAM folders for our e-mail.
If you or your employer needs to pay by bank wire transfer:
  1. Contact Info@innovativeotsolutions.com.
  2. Please note that there is a $35 USD bank wire transfer fee for this payment method.
Note.  If you are a calibrated AMPS, School AMPS, or ESI rater without an AMPS 9, School AMPS 2005, or ESI 2009 license, then you can get a license for OTAP by one of two ways: 1) taking a new training course or 2) revalidating.  We recommend that you take a new course if you have not been regularly using the AMPS, School AMPS, or ESI.  Please see our current list of upcoming courses. There is also an online course option (AMPS only).  We recommend that you consider a Self-Study Revalidation Course if you have been using the AMPS, School AMPS, or ESI regularly.  The self-study revalidation course involves independent reading of the current manual and submitting data for 10 recently-tested people as you did for your original AMPS, School AMPS, or ESI calibration.

Please consult your rater calibration or data submission guidelines before exporting and submitting data.

  • In-Person (Live) Course: See the rater calibration requirements section of your course handouts located in the AMPS, School AMPS, or ESI Course Materials
  • Online Course: See your rater calibration requirements handout found in your Online Course Files > Rater Calibration Requirements & Guidelines
  • Revalidation/Research: See your data submission guidelines that you received when you purchased your revalidation course or paid your research data analysis fee (Contact Info@innovativeotsolutions.com if you need your guidelines sent again)
