Kristin Jones is the Director of the Center for Innovative OT Solutions. She became an occupational therapist because she believes that occupation has the power to change lives. Like many occupational therapists, she was faced with a large disconnect between her occupational therapy education and her “real world” job. She lost sight of how to keep her practice — evaluations, interventions, and documentation — centered on occupation. The most instrumental factors that brought her occupational therapy practice back to being centered on occupation was her use of the Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS) and the Occupational Therapy Intervention Process Model (OTIPM).
Kristin has been a faculty member at CIOTS, teaching AMPS and then OTIPM courses for two decades. She is the co-author of the AMPS manuals and most recently lead the project to design the online AMPS course. Prior to joining CIOTS full time, she worked as a clinician in adult rehabilitation at a medical center in Northern California.
She enjoys spending time doing just about anything with her family and making a pot of tea every morning (must be Darjeeling).
